Flu shots – do you get one?
Posted on October 29th, 2008 @ 10:25 am

To my recollection, I have never received a flu shot, not even while I was pregnant with the Kiddo.  I *almost* got one then, I stood in line at a nearby grocery store only to find out they only had shots for non-pregnant adults and elderly.  By then I saw no point at having to schedule one more appointment at my gyno just for a stupid flu shot, so I left it at that and did not get one.

Wouldn’t you know, I didn’t get the flu that year? View the rest of this entry…

Not my original plan

So my plan earlier was to do as much work at the day job before lunch so that I could relax the rest of the afternoon.  Well, it’s a good thing I did.

I ended up leaving work early because my husband – whom I carpool with because we work the same shift at the same company, but in different departments – started feeling sick.

Seems to me like he is coming down with what the Kiddo had this past weekend.  Only thing is I hope he doesn’t end up with the, um, vomitous part of the sickies that she had.  So far he’s just got a fever and a sore throat, and achy muscles.

I warned him when he was giving her her goodnight kisses last Saturday, not to kiss her on the lips.  But did he listen?  Noooo.  The big dummy. 🙄

I kind of felt icky on Sunday night (even had the shakes in bed, so probably had a fever), but it never really developed into anything for me other than that.  Hopefully I already had the really toned down version of what the Kiddo had, and now it’s just my husband’s turn, and then that will be that.

One can hope, right?

Yep. It would seem the sore throat is turning out to be a precursor to a cold. 🙁  Now I’m getting a stuffy/runny nose.  With some sneezing thrown in for good measure.

How exactly does that make any sense – having both a stuffy AND a runny nose at the same time?? Doesn’t that seem, I don’t know… contradictory??  🙄

What’s even more annoying, is how your nose can be completely stopped up when you’re laying down, but when you sit up, it’s like the heavens just open up and you can breathe freely (mostly).  And what confuses me the most?  Is when you’re stuffy when you’re sitting down – which you’re still upright – but when you STAND up, your nose clears.  Wha??  Is it the higher elevation or something?  I don’t think a couple of feet should make all that much of a difference! LOL

So if this doesn’t clear up with a good dose of Vit C before bed and another tomorrow before work… Expect to hear me whining about being ill here.
