Unfortunately just because it’s Friday doesn’t mean it’s the end of my work week.  This weekend our manager is pressing us to work in our spare time to whittle away at our queue.   Our “perk” is extra work-from-home days depending on how many tasks we complete, and we can get up to a full week at home if we go for that number.

In my husband’s department at work, the time has come for people to change shifts – they are 24/7, so everything three months or so, people are given the option to move their schedule to another shift.

Currently my husband and I carpool, working five days a week.  In his department, they have the option to work four 10 hour days on either side of the week.  He used to work that shift pretty much consistently.  I don’t even remember why he switched to my schedule anymore, maybe it was to start carpooling, maybe it was to try to save some money.  Since working in the evenings in his department garners a 5% shift differential and there is no such thing on days, and when he worked that shift before, the Kiddo only went to daycare part time… ultimately it did not save us any money.

Gosh, I’m tired already?  AND I had a nap today with the Kiddo.

Hovering over a sick child with a barf bucket – a child, I might add, who wants absolutely NOTHING to do with said barf bucket, despite that she could throw up at any time, and doesn’t care that mommy has tried to tell her that she doesn’t want to have to clean up barf off her floors – takes more energy than I figured.

My throat is starting to feel sore.

I hope I’m not coming down with a cold or something. I’ve been enjoying these past three or four months of not catching any bugs from daycare (since the Kiddo has not brought any home recently).

She just switched rooms though, going into the preschool room. SHE hasn’t shown any signs of anything (yet), but that doesn’t mean she can’t pass something on.

Bleh. 🙁
