I should be figuring out what this week’s meals are going to be.  But I’m not.

I should be making a shopping list.  But I’m not, I just don’t feel like it.  And I don’t even know what we’ll be cooking this week yet due to the first item above.

I should be compiling a list of key words for another blog, but I’m not.  I don’t feel like it.

There is a paid posting company that I was patiently waiting to sign up for, and up until this week their ToS said the minimum requirements for “blog age” was 30 days and 10 posts.  I was excited when I realized my blog was old enough to apply, and I sent in my application on September 25.

Usually it would only take a few days for a blog to be reviewed and then acceptd or denied, but when my waiting period had surpassed their typical time frame, I sent in a ticket inquiring about the status.  I was told they were behind about two weeks, but that mine would be reviewed eventually.

THEN they changed their minimum requirements to 90 days & 20 posts.  Mind you, this is *after* I originally submitted my application.  Today, I get a rejection letter, “your blog isn’t old enough, blah blah blah”.

It is quite disappointing to hear this.  I mean, I submitted my blog before they made this change.  How is that fair to me when they were the ones behind a couple of weeks in reviewing blogs?  How is that really fair to ANYONE who was in that queue right along with me?

That’s like a retail store changing the price on a product you have in your hands while you’re standing in line, and refusing to honor the price tag that is both on the product and on the shelf.

Over the weekend I came across a site that led me to pick up another domain and set up a couple more blogs, to try a different avenue to earn some extra money, hopefully, once things get rolling on the blogs.  One blog will be a review site for video games on all consoles, hopefully written by my husband and his best friend, and occasionally some posts by me as well.  The other blog will be reviews about the safety of products geared toward babies and toddlers.

So I was going through my Entrecard drops, and came across a site that Chrome would not let me visit.

It tells me that the site is linking to yet another site, that is either hosting malware or has hosted some in the past.

From what I can tell, the site that this blogger is linking to, was probably attacked without their knowledge and for a period of time, they unintentionally hosted some malware, thanks to yet another site that put it there.  That site, IS hosting malware, and has infected well over 400 domains in the last 90 days.

Eek!

I wrote to the gal via a bulletin board to warn her that an image she was linking to is potentially dangerous, and suggested how she could change it out for one she creates and hosts on her own server and then update the image source for the link.

I think this little built in tool in Chrome would have been handy when my OWN old blog had been hacked, makes me wonder if the hacker had linked me to other sites that hosted malware and such.  That was the incident that pretty much killed my desire to blog for a while, because cleaning it up was one hell of a chore.

Sorry if you tried commenting before and was told you were a spambot.  I was trying out a plugin for wordpress, and apparently it thinks real people are spam bots.

Off with its head!  I uninstalled it, so hopefully people can comment as they please now!  So sorry about that!

Something else I need to turn off is WordPress’s automatic ability to ‘nofollow’ any links I add myself.  That will have to wait ’til later though, apparently I have a meeting to go to that I forgot about until Outlook reminded me!

Anyway, I would like to thank Monica @ Oh Fer Cryin’ Out Loud for letting me know my blog was being mean and blocking innocent people from commenting! And I’m sorry your link won’t get any SE credit until I fix THAT issue later.

I started this site because I’d fallen off the blog wagon with my old blog, and wanted to use this one to start fresh and eventually – hopefully – to earn a little bit of dough from it.

The problem I am finding so far, is, I often find myself spending a lot of time surfing to other people’s sites – which is one of the points behind blogging – but it cuts into my “day job”.

So I try to juggle my time between my day job and trying to keep up the blog, and trying to surf to others’ sites to give them traffic… all the while, forgetting to comment frequently to pimp myself out.  Well, to pimp my site out, anyway.  So really, what is the point of creating my blog if I forget to pimp it out via comments at others’ sites?  Bleh.  Not enough hours in the day, I tell you.

I had a couple of things I was going to write about today, one of them being the weather last night (already done), and I can’t remember what the other item was.  Hmm.

I hate it when I come up with things to blog about when I’m nowhere near a computer, but when I finally get to one, I can no longer remember all of what I wanted to chat about!  Sometimes my memory is like swiss cheese. 🙄
