World of Warcraft

I started a new character tonight – a Draenei Shaman.  My husband chose a Draenei Mage.  When we play with the intent of grouping, we tend to pick characters in the same region, especially with the “refer a friend” bonus that we’re making use of right now.  He “referred” me and I created a new account, and now when we group we make 3x the experience, so we’re levelling up pretty quickly.  I’m already level 9, and we started playing maybe an hour ago?  I have about 600 more experience points to obtain and I’ll be level 10. :hay:

It IS Saturday, right?

Feh.  Somehow working from home yesterday left me feeling like my weekend was already nearly overwith.  Probably didn’t help that we stayed up way late last night playing video games.

At least the kiddo let me sleep on the floor of her room for another hour after she woke up while she played with her blocks and stuffed animals, and alternated what blanket she would cover me with.  She likes covering her babies with blankets, and she also likes covering mommy & daddy with blankets if we let her. It’s cute.

I’ve got to figure out how we’re going to pay for two copies of “Spore” tomorrow.  It looks very interesting, and we already downloaded and played around with their creature creator.

My house is a mess, and I have absolutely zero desire to lift a finger to do any cleaning.  The catbox needs cleaned, too.  Bleh.

I did do one productive thing today.  Well, technically two.  I made my own little badges for my two blogs for Entrecard.  I figured it’s been almost two weeks, time to stop using their default badges and make my own. Whee!

Sweet melodies

My tastes in music vary pretty widely, although not quite as much as my husband’s.

But anyway. I like listening to stuff from the 80s and 90s (mostly alternative from the 90s); I’ll occasionally listen to hard rock/alternative, which includes Korn and Tool; if the mood strikes, I’ll also listen to easy listening.  Then there are newer bands that I like listening to, including Evanescence, Linkin Park, Maroon 5, and even some Rhianna, Taylor Swift, and Miley Cyrus.  Yes, even M.C.  And on the other end of the spectrum, new age type stuff.

So yeah, I have a fairly wide range of tastes in music, depending on my mood.

The Day Job

At the Day Job, we have a queue of tasks that we work out of.

Recently, we have been bombarded with orders.

Today, the total queue of assigned & unassigned orders looks like this:  1123

My queue alone is 85.

The unassigned queue, is 498.

*sigh*

I think there are maybe 12 of us, including our boss.  New orders come in every day, so we barely make any headway.

Upper management complains that our numbers are too high, yet took away the job reqs we had open.

We need more bodies, you imbeciles!!

Sticky: Friday’s Jewelry Feature

I figured, with the upcoming month of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, that my first feature will be for my awareness bracelets.

Every Friday

Starting tomorrow, I am going to start a small featurette for my jewelry store to try to ramp up some business over there.  I will feature one item from the store either every Friday, or every other Friday, and offer a discount on that item.  How steep of a discount, I haven’t yet decided.  Maybe as much as 25% off, but likely no more than that.

I haven’t really added anything recent since, oh, June I think.  Most of that is because while I thought I had a pretty decent idea with my “summer drink” series, I only received minimal feed back on the few things I did put together, and absolutely zero nibbles in sales.  That kind of does a lot to squash any of my own enthusiasm for adding additional pieces to the series.

In addition to the fact that I haven’t had the money to get some more supplies for some new ideas I’ve had rolling around in my head, I need to do some sales in order to cover that expense.

A couple of things I will note before I start that tomorrow, though:

1) I am not set up to do international sales.  I might consider selling to people in Canada, but my store isn’t set up for those either, I don’t think, at least not yet.  So if you’re international, sorry.  I’m just not prepared to do international sales right now.

2) Paypal is the payment option right now.  I believe it is set up so that you can either use your Paypal account, or when it takes you to Paypal’s site, you can enter your credit card (securely, of course) and not have to sign into PayPal completely.  However, if you chose to use your Paypal account, please make sure that your account is completely confirmed.  Otherwise it will NOT let you use your account, it will deny the transaction.   Confirmed accounts only via that method!  Otherwise, just a credit card will be fine.

That’s about it I think.  Feel free to hop over to my site and take a look at what I have in the meantime.  I think for now I am going to fiddle around with making some little thumbnails in preparation for the featurette tomorrow.

Not my original plan

So my plan earlier was to do as much work at the day job before lunch so that I could relax the rest of the afternoon.  Well, it’s a good thing I did.

I ended up leaving work early because my husband – whom I carpool with because we work the same shift at the same company, but in different departments – started feeling sick.

Seems to me like he is coming down with what the Kiddo had this past weekend.  Only thing is I hope he doesn’t end up with the, um, vomitous part of the sickies that she had.  So far he’s just got a fever and a sore throat, and achy muscles.

I warned him when he was giving her her goodnight kisses last Saturday, not to kiss her on the lips.  But did he listen?  Noooo.  The big dummy. 🙄

I kind of felt icky on Sunday night (even had the shakes in bed, so probably had a fever), but it never really developed into anything for me other than that.  Hopefully I already had the really toned down version of what the Kiddo had, and now it’s just my husband’s turn, and then that will be that.

One can hope, right?

My goal for today

Is to get as much work done for my day job before lunch…

So that I can spend my afternoon goofing off.  Well, not completely goofing off the entire time.  I’ll still do some work here and there. 🙂  Geeze, what do you think I am?  I total slacker??  Hardly.  😉

Barely 2 weeks

And I already have 50 posts.  Granted some are trivial drivel, but still. 🙂

To my Entrecard droppers – I zoomed through my drops tonight, so I apologize for not staying very long to read posts.  Since it’s already the 4th wherever Entrecard is, I was able to do them for the 4th even though it is still the 3rd for me.  I figure if I hurried and did them tonight, I could, erm, probably be more productive at the day job.  Goodness knows my boss is probably scratching his head wondering what the heck is going on with me that my numbers are less than optimal.

It’s called distractions! LOL

Anyway, if I get bored at work tomorrow – which chances are good that I probably will – I will most likely go to my “view all cards” panel and poke around and read some blogs to look for some source of entertainment. One can only click, type, copy & paste code for so long before the mind starts wandering and wanting something more fun to do.  And no, it’s not related to any kind of HTML or PHP or CSS code.  If it were I probably wouldn’t get bored that quickly!

Here’s another plus for Chrome

So I was going through my Entrecard drops, and came across a site that Chrome would not let me visit.

It tells me that the site is linking to yet another site, that is either hosting malware or has hosted some in the past.

From what I can tell, the site that this blogger is linking to, was probably attacked without their knowledge and for a period of time, they unintentionally hosted some malware, thanks to yet another site that put it there.  That site, IS hosting malware, and has infected well over 400 domains in the last 90 days.

Eek!

I wrote to the gal via a bulletin board to warn her that an image she was linking to is potentially dangerous, and suggested how she could change it out for one she creates and hosts on her own server and then update the image source for the link.

I think this little built in tool in Chrome would have been handy when my OWN old blog had been hacked, makes me wonder if the hacker had linked me to other sites that hosted malware and such.  That was the incident that pretty much killed my desire to blog for a while, because cleaning it up was one hell of a chore.
